OUR MISSION

More Than Meets the AI is a collective of technology users who share a concern over the agenda taken by artificial intelligence research, development and funding.

We are inspired by the work of technology critics, social scientists, media activists, and all those who paved the way for a critical interaction with technology in a highly inequitable and divided world.

This organization's main value is justice in all its forms. As AI-powered technologies continue to take over more sectors of our economic, social and political lives, we believe that our relationship with AI systems as it currently stands is at best unimaginative, and at worst, oppressive.

As an anti-oppressive, community-building collective, we want to amplify the voices of those who are working hard to shape technology for a fairer, more just world. 

​

To do this, we organize a series of workshops designed to empower current and future AI designers and ethicists who will play a role in shaping and governing these systems.
